Peter O'Connor

Peter O’Connor is an energy analyst with the Climate & Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. In his role, he researches the most effective ways to integrate solar power and electric vehicles into the electricity system.

Dr. O’Connor began his career with UCS as a Kendall Science Fellow. Prior to that, he conducted research on energy and environmental issues for the Global Environment & Technology Foundation in Arlington, VA. His clients included the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, states, companies, and non-governmental organizations. He also conducted research for the World Bank, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, and other clients.

Dr. O’Connor received a Ph.D. in geography from Boston University. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University in geothermal engineering and a B.A. from Harvard University in physics.
