Rich works with scientists across the country to help them become better communicators. He also directs public education campaigns and develops external partnerships for UCS. He is the lead author of "A Scientist's Guide to Talking with the Media" and editor of "Thoreau's Legacy," a global warming anthology with Penguin Classics. For nearly 20 years, Rich's talks and workshops have empowered thousands of researchers in a variety of fields to spread their messages on their own terms. He previously covered energy and environmental issues as a reporter for a bicameral caucus in the U.S. Congress. He also coordinated a task force on climate science chaired by Senator John McCain and then-Senator Al Gore.
