Tell YOUR Automaker to Go for the Green Car Gold
The Union of Concerned Scientists just released its latest Automaker Rankings report evaluating the environmental performance of the eight largest automakers’ vehicle fleets. Honda claimed the Greenest Automaker award—in a three-way photo finish with Toyota and Hyundai—and Chrysler again finished last.
Every automaker, however, has room for improvement. You can help push the automakers in the greenest direction by reinforcing how important environmental performance is, especially to their prospective customers.
Please choose the automaker whose car you currently own (or are most interested in purchasing) and let them know what they need to do to reduce their vehicles’ smog-forming and global warming emissions—and earn your business.
Retaining customers is a priority to most automakers, so your voice as an owner is particularly powerful. If you own a car from more than one automaker, feel free to send a letter to all automakers of which you have been a customer.
