Bon Appetit Announces Policy to Require Turkey Suppliers to Eliminate Unnecessary Use of Antibiotics

UCS and our allies in the Keep Antibiotics Working (KAW) coalition have been working closely with companies that purchase large quantities of meat who sought ways to reduce antibiotic use in meat production. Bon Appetit, a food service company providing dining and catering services for universities, corporations, and other institutional clients, recently announced a policy to require its turkey suppliers to eliminate unnecessary use of antibiotics. This new announcement complements Bon Appetit's existing policy for suppliers of chicken.

UCS and the Keep Antibiotics Working coalition are leveraging this breakthrough to pressure Burger King and Wendy's to adopt similar healthy antibiotics policies.
