California Voters Defeat Loophole-Ridden Energy Initiative
Proposition 7, the initiative that purported to increase the state's renewable energy usage, would have made it harder to increase renewable energy development in the state. Renewable energy associations and leading science and environmental groups—including the Union of Concerned Scientists—opposed the measure. Our analysis helped inform voters about loophopes in the initiative and on November 4, 2008 California voters defeated Prop 7.
