Massachusetts Passes Conference Committee Version of Energy Bill

The Massachusetts legislature passed a conference committee version of a comprehensive energy bill. The bill contains a wide range of good provisions on renewable energy and energy efficiency. It also lends legislative approval to the administration's decision last year to bring Massachusetts into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative--a market-based system to limit the pollution that causes global warming. Earlier in the spring of 2008, hundreds of UCS activists emailed and called their state representatives in support of the bill.
