analysis Evaluating the Impacts of Increasing Wisconsin's Renewable Portfolio Standard
The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, conducted an analysis for the Wisconsin Division of Energy. The purpose of the study was to provide policy makers with a realistic forecast of the economically available supplies, costs, and carbon dioxide reductions that could result from several different scenarios for increasing Wisconsin's renewables portfolio standard (RPS) requirement. The joint project resulted in the release of two separate reports. UCS released a report in October 2003, that presents the detailed methodology, assumptions, and results of the analysis. On behalf of the Wisconsin Department of Administration's Division of Energy, the University of Wisconsin-Madison also released a report in October 2003, that summarizes the findings of the technical analysis performed by UCS.
