Strong RES, Carbon Cap, and Allowance Allocations to Renewables Needed in Climate Legislation

Letter from UCS and other Organizations to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and Energy and Environment Subcommittee Regarding the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES) discussion draft

On May 6, 2009, UCS co-signed a letter to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Waxman, Ranking Member Barton and House Energy and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Markey and Ranking Member Upton with 27 other organizations calling for the inclusion of 25 percent by 2025 renewable electricity standard in comprehensive climate legislation including a carbon cap and allocation of allowances to renewables.
