Unfortunately, despite the fact that these technologies are already available and affordable, automakers have chosen to invest in engine power at the expense of clean, efficient vehicle choices. With the era of cheap gasoline behind us, the automakers' focus on gas miles-per-hour instead of miles-per-gallon has us all paying the price at the pump. Every minute, U.S. consumers send hundreds of thousands of dollars overseas to buy petroleum, and the national, economic, and environmental security impacts of our oil dependence continues to grow.
Our experts analyze the environmental and economic impacts of motor vehicles, the technologies that can reduce these impacts, and the policies that could promote cleaner conventional and advanced vehicle technologies, as well as lower carbon fuels.
