Climate Science Under Attack: How Can We Change the Narrative?

The recent attacks on science and scientists in the media are an escalation of decades of efforts to distort the science and confuse the public. From the stolen emails scandal just before the negotiations in Copenhagen to the claims calling into question the integrity of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports, the media has been awash with disinformation and distraction.

Dr. Melanie Fitzpatrick, UCS climate scientist, hosted a webinar "Climate Science Under Attack: How Can We Change the Narrative?" on April 27, 2010. The PowerPoint below is available for download. The presentation covers efforts to distort climate science, the public's response and understanding of climate science, and what you can do to counter disinformation and proactively promote climate science to change the media narrative. Dr. Fitzpatrick included extensive notes in the slides.
