Amendments in 2008 made the U.S. Lacey Act the world's first law to stop the import of illegal wood and wood products. However, the Lacey Act is under attack in Congress with two bills that would gut the Act and leave it at risk of lack of funding for implementation.

Join the webinar to hear information from our new report, Logging and the Law: How the U.S. Lacey Act Helps Reduce Illegal Logging in the Tropics, and get an update from a May 8 hearing in Congress on the two bills that could hinder the Lacey Act's effectiveness. In addition, the webinar will feature information from a scientist working in Madagascar who can share stories of illegal logging from the field.
