Global Warming Solutions in the Great Lakes Region

The Great Lakes region may experience more severe global warming effects than previously expected according to "Confronting Climate Change in the Great Lakes Region." These effects include poorer air quality and more frequent extreme heat and heavy precipitation events.  The findings highlight the need for immediate action. State and federal renewable electricity standards (RES), which require that utilities obtain more power from clean energy sources, would help curb global warming while boosting the economy of the Great Lakes region.

Click on your state below to urge legislators to support a strong RES.
