Don Anair Senior Analyst Clean Vehicles Program
Expertise electric and fuel cell vehicles vehicle emissions control
Profile As an analyst in the California office of the UCS Clean Vehicles Program, Don Anair analyzes the impact of diesel pollution on public health and air quality. He is also an advocate for groundbreaking cleanup efforts in the state and around the country, including regulations, incentive programs, and legislation.
Before Anair came to UCS, he worked for Applied Signal Technology, where he performed system engineering design and analysis for a new commercial satellite communications product. His efforts resulted in a patent and a million-dollar research and development program. During his time at Applied Signal, Anair not only worked in the laboratory, but also contributed to the company's marketing efforts by making customer site visits, giving technical presentations to customers, and providing management and product demonstrations at industry trade shows.
Anair holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University. As a member of Cornell's Formula Society of Automotive Engineers vehicle team, he designed and manufactured a methanol-based alternative fuel system for use in a high-performance race car.
Anair lives in San Francisco, where he volunteers for habitat restoration at Golden Gate National Park. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, hiking and backpacking. |
