Michelle Robinson has been with the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) since 1992 and has more than 15 years of experience in public-interest advocacy and organizing.
Ms. Robinson is a recognized expert on state and federal transportation policy and the legislative debates surrounding them. Her views are often quoted in newspapers such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Boston Globe, and she has appeared on news programs including the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. She knows the players in the public interest, policy making, and industry arenas, and her political experience and knowledge land her in the midst of some of the hottest debates on transportation and energy issues today. Ms. Robinson spent several years working these issues in the California legislature and now focuses on several northeastern states as well as action at the federal level.
Before coming to UCS, she was executive director of PeacePac and legislative director of the Council for a Livable World. She also consulted for several organizations including the California League of Conservation Voters.
