Urge Your Governor to Make Nuclear Power Safer
Submit a postcard below and UCS will deliver it directly to your governor.

The lives and livelihoods of countless Japanese citizens have been devastated by the nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. And what happened there, can happen in your state too—home to one or more of the nation's 104 operating nuclear reactors.
Unfortunately, those in Washington, D.C., who are responsible for nuclear power safety and security, including the president, Congress, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) are not taking the risks seriously. From lax oversight and enforcement, to dangerous storage conditions of highly radioactive used nuclear fuel, to wholly inadequate emergency planning—it's a recipe for disaster.
While it is impossible to eliminate all of the risks associated with nuclear power, with proper and aggressive oversight, we can make nuclear power safer. Urge your governor to take responsibility for protecting you and your family.
