The 2015 Center for Science and Democracy Calendar
Each year since 2006, UCS has asked artists all over the United States to give us their creative take on the absurdity of political interference in science. This year we commissioned 12 previous winners of our editorial cartoon contests to develop cartoons that shine a light on the important role science should play in American democracy—and the forces that get in the way.
The featured cartoons address a number of topics that are critical to the role of science in policy making, including misinformation that confuses the public and delays science-based public protections; government transparency and monitoring of environmental risks; and attacks on and harassment of scientists.
