The Pollination Toolkit

This toolkit is designed to raise awareness regarding the importance of pollinators in agriculture. Most flowering plants require help from pollinators to produce fruit and seeds.  Without pollinators such as insects and birds we would not have the food crops we depend upon.  However, the benefit of these species is often overlooked and many pollinator species are currently in decline due to factors such as habitat loss and pesticide use. 

This toolkit helps illustrate the role of a healthy ecosystem in maintaining pollinator populations and the importance of these species.

The Toolkit includes:

Fact Sheet-
An attractive one page summary that introduces the service. This was developed for public dissemination and is available in a downloadable pdf file.

A 'What You Can Do' Fact Sheet-
A list of things that individuals can do to help prevent the decline of pollinator populations. This was developed for public dissemination and is available in a downloadable pdf file.

Key Points-A set of selected facts about pollination, written in language to appeal to a general audience. You can pick and choose those statements appropriate for your audience.

Science Summary-
A technical paper that provides an overview of the science behind pollination.

Resources and References-
Provides an extensive list of people, organizations, websites, publications, and other resource materials.

Case Studies and Programs-
A series of case studies and information on pollination related programs.

Policy Overview-
Key legislation and administrative policy and programs.

Presentation Aids-
Visual, literary, and training resources for written or oral presentations.
