2007 Annual Report
 The Union of Concerned Scientists' 2007 Annual Report (pdf) catalogues a year rich in accomplishments. With victories ranging from the first increase in fuel economy in 30 years to the elimination of funding for building a new generation of nuclear bombs, UCS has been active in Washington, DC and in states around the country. Our success would not be possible without the help of our supporters, whose contributions are essential to our ability to maintain an independent voice.
We are also proud of our sound fiscal management. Charity Navigator gave UCS its highest rating—four stars—and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine highlighted UCS as an example of a financially effective and growing non-profit organization. UCS members can be confident that their dollars are being put to good use. In fact, in 2007, 83 percent of our budget went directly to fund our programmatic work.
