In retirement, Mr. Hitz is concentrating his global systems experience on the most complex, critical systems engineering problem of all: global sustainability. He does so through his positions as vice president of the Hitz Foundation and board member of the Worldwatch Institute. He also produces wine in Los Altos Hills, CA and plays the piano.
