Megan Rising

Energy Campaign Manager & Advocate

Megan works with UCS members, supporters, activists, and experts to build support for the efforts of the Climate and Energy program. Through public education, direct advocacy, and grassroots mobilization, she works to increase our country's use of renewable energy and reduce our dependence on coal. Before coming to UCS, Megan was senior organizer with Corporate Accountability International, where she worked to hold tobacco corporations to account and to challenge the privatization of water. In this role, she built and managed an international coalition that secured strong corporate accountability provisions in the World Health Organization's global tobacco treaty. She holds a master's degree in international climate and energy policy and human security from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and is also a graduate of Green Corps, a fellowship for environmental organizing.
