Nancy Goroff

Nancy Goroff is currently on leave from Stony Brook University to run for public office. At Sony Brook, she has been a Professor of Chemistry for over twenty years, most recently serving as Chair of the Chemistry Department. She also served on the Steering Committee for the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. Nancy has an AB from Harvard University and PhD from UCLA, and her research probes the interface between organic chemistry and materials science, especially in the area of organic semi-conductors. She lives on Long Island and has two college-age daughters. Nancy has had a long-time interest in environmental issues.
