J.C. Kibbey is the Midwest outreach and policy advocate for the Climate & Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. In his role, he develops and executes campaigns to promote clean energy and a healthy climate, and engages with scientists, supporters, allies and elected officials around climate issues.
Prior to joining UCS, J.C. served as a public policy researcher for SEIU Local 1 in Chicago, where he helped manage several winning campaigns and worked to increase the union’s engagement with environmental justice. He previously managed online communications and strategy at a digital startup, and worked for the international advocacy organization Avaaz.
J.C. earned an M.A. in public policy and administration from Northwestern University, and a B.A. in political theory and constitutional democracy from Michigan State University.
