About this map

This map highlights some of the many locations along the US East Coast and Gulf of Mexico that are vulnerable to rising seas. It is far from comprehensive—many more communities and locations are at risk than those included here—but it is illustrative of the magnitude of change that the country must face over the coming decades and century.

Supporting information is drawn from multiple sources, including UCS reports, fact sheets, case studies, and our blog, The Equation.
