Director of Foundation Relations
Gabriela Artavia oversees our foundation relations and works closely with UCS programs and foundations to identify opportunities for support.
Tracy Donahoe

Director of Planned Giving

Tracy Donahoe is the director of planned giving at the Union of Concerned Scientists. She is responsible for ensuring future support for UCS by educating our membership about the many ways to leave a lasting legacy of support for our work. She works with supporters who are interested in leaving a gift in their wills and trusts, or by beneficiary designation through their retirement and life insurance plans. She also manages the UCS charitable gift annuity program, which helps supporters generate income and significant tax benefits while also creating a legacy gift to benefit UCS. Prior to joining UCS, Tracy was the Director of Planned Gifts at Earthjustice and also served on the development team for City of Hope in San Francisco. She earned a BS in environmental biology and management from the University of California, Davis.

Deputy Director of Development
Nathalie Highland oversees our fund-raising efforts (including membership, major gifts, and foundation relations) and she works closely with the UCS National Advisory Board.

Membership Director
John Mace ensures that UCS members stay informed about our activities and works to increase membership so the organization can achieve its strategic goals.

Chief Development Officer
As chief development officer, Laurie Marden oversees UCS fundraising efforts, including the organization’s work with foundations, members, and major donors.

Director of Stewardship

Malika McCray designs reporting, engagement, and acknowledgment strategies for UCS’s donor base across giving levels, and is responsible for maintaining and increasing the strong retention and loyalty of UCS membership.
