Laura Peterson holds fossil fuel companies accountable as the corporate analyst and advocate for the accountability campaign at the Union of Concerned Scientists. In her role, she oversees corporate research; conducts targeted policy analysis and advocacy efforts; and engages directly with companies, their investors, financial analysts, and other influencers.

Ms. Peterson has an extensive background in investigative journalism and strategic research. She has served as staff to the US Senate’s main oversight committee, a policy analyst for watchdog groups including the Project on Government Oversight and Taxpayers for Common Sense, and a journalist for the Center for Public Integrity and Foreign Policy magazine, as well as a correspondent in Turkey and the Balkans.

Ms. Peterson holds a Masters of international public policy from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
