GM’s failure to support strong vehicle efficiency and emissions standards – as represented by their lawsuit to revoke California’s and other states’ existing authority to set their own efficiency metrics and limit tailpipe pollution results in the company’s favorability falling from 93% to 44% with their consumer base…a 53% point reputational loss. By comparison, in a similar survey, Toyota’s favorable reputation fell by roughly 30%.
